Applications
Ethyl Lactate is a good precision cleaning solvent that dries without leaving any film or residue. It is excellent for cleaning some lighter oils and greases, adhesives, etc.Used extensively for aircraft wipe cleaning, electronic circuit board cleaning (specifically semiconductor and microelectronics to clean plasma etch residues) other demanding applications. It is commonly used as a carrier solvent for photo resists and as an ingredient in edge bead removal mixtures. Due to its low toxicity, ethyl lactate is a popular choice across many different production scenarios. It is also used as a solvent with various types of polymers. In the presence of water, acids and bases the chemical will hydrolyse into ethanol and lactic acid.
