Overview
We make ethyl acetate on a large scale. Due to its low toxicity, it is used as a solvent in inks and paints and also as an extraction solvent. Its main function is to dissolve the resin, control the viscosity and modify the drying rate. It can also be used as a gelling agent in the manufacture of powder, essences and perfumes. It is miscible in all proportions with common organic solvents.

Applications
Ethyl acetate is used as a viscosity reducer (thinner) in the formulation of photosensitive (photoresist) materials. It is used for even spin- coating photoresist materials onto silicon wafers. High quality solvents like ethyl acetate are required to make acceptable semi-conductor chips in this industry. It is further used in the edge-bead removal process after spin coating. It is also used as a cleaning solvent in electronics such as video and audio tapes. Magnetic media of tapes are purified with ethyl acetate. It is also used for head cleaning, etc. In fact, ethyl acetate of 99.7% quality is the best solvent for cleaning, etc.
