This is a non-denatured industrial alcohol has applications in the personal care industry, paints, coatings, printing inks, fragrance and flavor industries.
Applications
Denatured rectified spirit is mainly used as an antifoaming agent in the cosmetic industry. It reduces and retards the formation of foam. Generally, an anti-foaming cosmetic chemicals are insoluble in the foaming medium and have surface active properties. An essential feature of RS is a low viscosity and a facility to spread rapidly on foamy surfaces. These defoamers have an affinity to the air-liquid surface where it destabilizes the foam and causes rupture of the air bubbles and breakdown of surface foam.
